All Hope not Lost for PDP in Bauchi – Yuguda

ISA-YUGUDAOutgoing governor of Bauchi State, Malam Isa Yuguda, has said the Peoples Democratic Party will become stronger, better and more vibrant in the state.

He reminded members of the party that all hope was not lost despite the dismal outing of the party in the just concluded 2015 general elections, which saw the PDP lose the state to the All Progressives Congress.

Nonetheless, Yuguda encouraged the PDP members not to despair but stay on course while awaiting the 2019 elections.

A statement from the Government House, Bauchi, on Thursday, stated that the governor called on the people of the state to pray for the incoming administration in the state to be able to consolidate on the socio-economic gains of his outgoing administration in the state.

He also noted that as elections had come and gone, the people of the state should avoid the idea of engaging in negative politics with no direct bearing on the socio-economic progress of the state.

Yuguda promised that as his administration was winding down, he would continue to protect the lives and property of the law abiding people of Bauchi State as well as provide social services to the populace without malice and discrimination.

He commended the electorate in the state, the Independent Electoral Commission officials, security agencies, civil society organisations and the PDP among other stakeholders, for their collective roles in guaranteeing the peaceful conduct of the March 28 and April 11 elections in the state.

Gov. Yuguda then used the opportunity to congratulate his successor, Governor-elect Mohammed Abubakar, and members-elect of the Bauchi State House of Assembly for their victories at the polls, urging them to be magnanimous in victory, while urging the losers in the elections to accept defeat in good faith.
