The congress appealed to Buhari to employ his disciplinary tact to stamp out corruption in the civil service.
Mr Ifeanyi Okechukwu, the Chairman of TUC in Anambra, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Awka.
Okechukwu said the civil service needed to be purged of corruption to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
Besides, he urged Buhari to harmonise workers salary and unify the national minimum wage.
The labour leader also called on the president-elect to make the National Housing Fund useful and beneficial to civil servants and other Nigerians.
“Knowing Buhari as a disciplinarian, I believe he will use his wealth of experience in solving the minimum wage issue which the Federal Government has asked states to discuss with their respective workforce.
“Buhari should make it holistic in nature by withdrawing workers salaries from source before it gets to the states that refuse to pay, for it is no longer minimum wage if it is for states to go and discuss leaving us at the mercy of some impious governors,” he said.
Okechukwu further appealed to Buhari to address the workers housing scheme to enable them own houses after service to the nation.
The TUC also urged the incoming administration to stop impunity in all sectors of national life.
