No fewer then eight people died and property worth millions of naira was destroyed in Ibi Town, Ibi local government area of Taraba State.
The reason for fresh ethnic crisis in the area was said to be the incident that occurred on last Wednesday when an Ibi resident was heading to withdraw some money from an ATM in Wukari, was robbed of approximately N200, 000 by an armed men and almost died during the attack.
Later when the victim came home his relatives furious with the assault and sure that the gunmen were Tive people organized a massive reprisal attack that ended in the death of eight people, including a teenage girl.
The crisis was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer of theTaraba State Command, Joseph Kwaji, however, he added that he was unaware of any casualty.
