Warri Wolves Out of Caf Confederations Cup

Warri Wolves’ journey in the 2013/14 Caf Confederations Cup was halted by CA Bizertin on Sunday, following a 2-1 loss in their second round second leg tie.

Wolves’ Ikechukwu Thankgod was shown a red card in the 42nd minute, after Kola Anubi had leveled scores for the last season Federation Cup losing-finalists, who had gone down to an Edem Rjaibi’s opener.

Every hope of cruising into the third round of the competition on away goal advantage fizzled out for the Nigerian side, when Rjaibi completed his brace.

United, Still a Force to Be Reckoned With- Giggs

Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs relishes a meeting of “two huge clubs with two great histories” when Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich visit Old Trafford in the quarter-finals first leg of the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday night.

Not many have given the reigning Premier League champions a chance to stun the Bundesliga title holders and champions elect, having struggled so far in their own current campaign, but the Welshman reckons United are still a leading name in the European game.

“We don’t see ourselves as underdogs,” Giggs, 40, said. “We see ourselves as Manchester United playing at home in the Champions League, so we’re looking forward to it.”

Bayern are favourites to retain the Champions League trophy- they claimed for the fifth time in May- for the first time ever.

The veteran however admits United will face a “fantastic” Pep Guardiola side, saying: “When we play in the Champions League it’s always a great occasion, whether it’s the final or the quarter-finals.

“Bayern are a fantastic team, they’re the holders. Pep (Guardiola) has taken over and added a few players and they’re a very strong team. They are favourites in most people’s eye.”

Giggs opined he has not been underused by the Scot, amidst reports of player-coach rift in the club’s dressing room.

“The relationship is good,” he said. “There is no problem with the manager. I know a lot of stuff has been said [in the media] but I don’t know where it has come from,” he added.

“Of course, as a player you want to play all the time but I know I’m not going to play every game. The last time I played [against Olympiacos] was my first start in six or seven weeks but we have a lot of players to choose from.

On if this is his last season and European campaign he chipped in: “I don’t know. I’ll tell you after tomorrow maybe.

“I’m trying to enjoy this season and at the end I’ll take stock and see what I want to do. I’m enjoying my football as much as ever, I feel fit but I’ll make a decision at the end of the season.”

2015: Anything Short Of A free And Fair Election’s A Declaration Of War – Sheik Gumi

gumi-1Prominent Islamic cleric, Sheik (Dr) Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi has described the ongoing National Conference as futile, null and void as it is not recognized by the constitution.

The outspoken cleric, in a statement titled “Anything short of a free and fair election in 2015 is a declaration of War”, posted on his Facebook page, also warned the Nigerian Armed Forces against staging a coup, saying it would be consumed in such attempt as the people would resist any forceful take-over of power.

The post read: “We are already witnessing an undeclared War against the constitution the binding force of our unity. The constitution is the treaty and covenant that binds together in the country called Nigeria the north and south, Muslims and Christians the Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and the Igbos, the main contentious belligerent blocks to live in peace based on charters that cater for peaceful coexistence.

“In this treaty, any party that wants to secede, has to get the approval of 2/3 of Nigerians in the senate, fed house of reps and the states house of reps. Any short cut to this process is a breach of this treaty.

“Any forceful take-over of government is a breach of this treaty. If in the past people succumbed, today people will fight back. The armed forces itself will break up – we can see Syria as an example.

“The outcome of any national conference is futile and null and void since it’s unconstitutional.

“Therefore it remains only one option that is constitutional, if people want power; A free and fair Elections.

“If anybody or any group of Nigerians will use force or coercion or dubious manipulations and threats to stick to power or wrangle it, that is a clear breach of the constitution and a declaration of War against the peace loving people of this nation. There is no other option but to fight them until they are subdued. Biafra as precedence!” he wrote.

Sheik Gumi prayed for peace in Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode’s Bombshell: APC’ll Lose ‘Woefully’ If It Fields Muslim/Muslim Presidential Ticket

fani-kayode-apcA chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has warned the party leadership against presenting Muslims as both its presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the 2015 general elections, saying doing so would make the party lose the elections “woefully”.

Mr. Fani-Kayode made this known in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.

His statement might be confirmation of a report by a national daily that APC had settled on former military Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) and former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as its presidential and vice-presidential candidates respectively for the polls next year, citing their political value as reason for purportedly picking them.

While Buhari is seen as a hardline Muslim, Tinubu is considered to be a liberal Muslim. This, the APC strategists, according to the report, should swing Christian votes in their favor as they have nothing to fear.

But the former minister declared: “I have said it privately in countless political meetings and I will say it publicly today. Please mark it – the biggest mistake that my party, the APC, can make is to field a Muslim/Muslim ticket in the 2015 Presidential election. If we do that we will not only offend the Christian community, but we will also lose the election woefully”.

He warned that it would be foolhardy for the APC to assume what happened in the 1993 presidential elections, where the Social Democratic Party, SDP, fielded M.K.O Abiola and Baba Gana Kingibe – both of them staunch Muslims – and still cruised to a landslide victory in the annulled election.

Likewise, the APC chieftain said it would be wrong also to field an all-Christian ticket for the polls.

“This is not 1993 and whether we like it or not we must accept the fact that religion plays a major role in our politics today”, Mr. Fani-Kayode said.

He added, “Our party must have both a Christian and a Muslim on the ticket if we want to be taken seriously in the Presidential election. I implore those that think otherwise to sit down and think this through properly”.

Mr. Fani-Kayode further argued that presenting a Christian/Christian ticket would be as insensitive to the feelings of Muslims as an all Muslim ticket would be insensitive to the feelings of Christians.

“I for one would never support a ticket that presents two members of the same faith no matter what the consequences would be.

“This country belongs to both Muslims and Christians- we are all one and we must ensure that we do not hurt the feelings or the sensitivities of one another either advertently or inadvertently. As they say ‘the road to hell is paved with good intentions’.

“Let us be mindful of our actions, deeds and words, no matter how well-intentioned they may be, and let us ensure that we do not confirm the terrible stereotyping that those that are against us are trying to label us with.

“The APC is the only hope for Nigeria. Let us not mess it up by making the wrong choices. A word is enough for the wise”, he concluded.

DSS Probes Sanusi For Funding Terrorism

The Federal Government, yesterday, said it was investigating suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, on suspicions of being a major financier of terrorism in the country.

This was revealed by the Department of State Services, DSS, in a counter-affidavit to the suit filed by Sanusi before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, in which he is seeking to restrain the Police and operatives of DSS from arresting, detaining or otherwise harassing him.

The DSS told the court that it impounded Sanusi’s international passport because of on-going investigations over alleged terrorism financing.

Further in the counter-affidavit, DSS argued that it was absurd for Sanusi to say that an interaction with DSS for less than an hour amounted to a violation of his rights.

It argued that the provisions of Section 6 of the National Security Agencies Act empowered the service to impound the international passports of suspects pending conclusion of investigations.

It would be recalled that upon Sanusi’s arrival at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on February 20, the DSS impounded his international passport.

However, Sanusi has denied being a financier of terrorists, insisting that the Federal Government had failed to substantiate the allegation of terrorism financing levelled against him.

Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi

Sanusi, who spoke through his counsel, Mr Kola Awodein, SAN, at the resumed hearing in his fundamental human rights enforcement suit before the Federal High Court in Lagos, said that apart from the mere allusion to the allegation of terrorism financing, the Federal Government never produced any evidence before the court to back up such claim.

The court adjourned till April 3, 2014 to rule on the fundamental rights suit by Sanusi.

Respondents in the suit are the Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, Inspector-General of Police, IG and DSS. [Vanguard]

Authorities Release New Account Of MH370 Pilot’s Final Words Amid Criticism

malay s

The last words spoken by one of the pilots of the missing Malaysian Airlines plane to the control tower were “Good night Malaysian three seven zero”, Malaysia’s civil aviation authority said, changing its previous account of the last message as being a more casual “All right, good night”.

The correction of the official account of the last words was made as Malaysian authorities continued to face heavy criticism for their handling of the disappearance, particularly from families of the Chinese passengers on board Flight MH370 who have accused Malaysia of mismanaging the search and withholding information.

“We would like to confirm that the last conversation in the transcript between the air traffic controller and the cockpit is at 0119 (Malaysian Time) and is “Good night Malaysian three seven zero,” the Department of Civil Aviation said in a statement on Monday, according to the Reuters news agency.

Malaysia’s ambassador to China told Chinese families in Beijing as early as March 12, four days after the flight went missing, that the last words had been “All right, good night.”

“Good night Malaysian three seven zero” would be a more formal, standard sign-off from the cockpit of the Boeing 777, which was just leaving Malaysia-controlled airspace on its route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

Minutes later its communications were cut off and it turned back across Malaysia and headed towards the Indian Ocean.

Search effort

More than three weeks later, a huge international search effort is taking place in the southern Indian Ocean, off western Australia, but has so far failed to turn up any wreckage.

The statement from the aviation authority came after Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein was questioned at a news conference on Monday about the last words from the cockpit and fended off demands to release the official transcript.

The statement said authorities were still conducting a “forensic investigation” to determine whether the last words from the cockpit were by the pilot or the co-pilot.

Previously, Malaysia Airlines said the words were believed to have come from the co-pilot.

The civil aviation department said the investigating team had been instructed to release the full transcript at the next briefing with relatives.

Malaysia says the plane, which disappeared less than an hour into its flight, was likely to have been diverted deliberately far off course.

Investigators have determined no apparent motive or other red flags among the 227 passengers or the 12 crew.

About two-thirds of the passengers were Chinese nationals.[Reuters]

‘It Kills Faster Than It Spreads’, Aid Organisation Warns About Strain Of Ebola Virus

Ebola_Virus_Victim

An aid organisation has described the outbreak of Ebola in Guinea as an “unprecedented epidemic” with a “worrisome” geographical spread.

Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF) said on Monday that the Zaire strain of Ebola virus was the most aggressive and deadly, killing more than nine out of 10 patients.

“We are facing an epidemic of a magnitude never before seen in terms of the distribution of cases in the country: Gueckedou, Macenta Kissidougou, Nzerekore, and now Conakry,” said Mariano Lugli, who is coordinating MSF’s project in the Guinean capital of Conakry.

“MSF has intervened in almost all reported Ebola outbreaks in recent years, but they were much more geographically contained and involved more remote locations. This geographical spread is worrisome because it will greatly complicate the tasks of the organisations working to control the epidemic,” said Lugli.

To date, Guinean health authorities have recorded 122 suspected patients and 78 deaths. Other cases, suspected or diagnosed, have been found in Sierra Leone and Liberia.

On Saturday, Senegal said its border crossings to Guinea would be closed “until further notice”.

No treatment or vaccine is available for Ebola, a highly infectious and virulent disease which can cause uncontrollable bleeding.

The Zaire strain was first recorded 38 years ago in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It can be transmitted to humans from wild animals, and between humans through direct contact with blood, bodily fluids or the unprotected handling of contaminated corpses.

Four Killed As Explosion Rocks Kenya’s Nairobi

Kenyattack

Just six months after the Westgate Mall attack inNairobi, Kenya, explosions rocked the capital city on Monday killing at least five people and critically injured nine others, according to the national Disaster Operations Centre.

The attack in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area, sometimes called “Little Mogadishu”, might have involved twin blasts, the country’s police commander Benson Kibui told Reuters news agency.

An Associated Press reporter at the scene said at 7:30pm local time said there were two blasts about 200 metres apart. One of them caused the first floor walls of a restaurant to collapse and appeared to be caused by a device larger than a grenade.

“Police are securing the area for emergency response services,” the disaster organisation said on its official Twitter account.

Ambulances and private cars ferried the injured to hospital, a witness told Reuters.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility. In the past, such attacks in the area that is popular with Somalis have been blamed on Somalia’s al-Shabab armed group.

Monday’s blasts came a day after a man suspected of assembling a bomb was killed when it went off where he lived near Eastleigh, Kenyan newspapers reported.

The Standard newspaper, which cited police and witnesses, said three men who lived with the victim fled in a car shortly after Sunday’s blast.

NANS Protest LASU Fees Hike

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) today took staged a protest at the Lagos State Government secretariat, Ikeja over hike in fees of the Lagos State University (LASU).

Students numbering about 200 stormed the governor’s office chanting songs and carrying placards with various inscriptions, some of which read “What has the poor done wrong?” and “Fashola Reduce LASU fees’’

After attempts by security details at the governor’s office gate to prevent the students from entering almost failed, Governor Babatunde Fashola ordered that the protesters be allowed to come and express their grievances.

Sunday Ashefon, NANS South-West Zone Coordinator, who led the protest, described the increase in LASU fees from N25,000 to N250,000 as prohibitive.

According to him, the increase had affected students of the institution who have had to drop out because they could not afford to pay.

“The fees are not just affordable; some of our colleagues have opted out of LASU simply because they cannot pay from N250,000 to N350,000 school fees.

“These prohibitively high fees are some of the highest paid by any university in the country. Children of the poor can no more attend LASU and this is sad.

“What Nigerian students want therefore, is nothing but reversal of the fees to the initial N25 000. APC as a political party promises change, we want that change in LASU too,’’ he said.

Nurudeen Yusuf, LASU Student Union President, also noted that the hike in fees in the institution had resulted in many problems in the school.

He noted that the hike had not only forced out some students because they could not pay, it had also resulted in falling standards.

“The glorious days of LASU are disappearing and we can’t really see any justification for the new fees,’’ he said.

In his response, Fashola said the decision of the state government to increase fees was to reposition the university and make it a centre of academic excellence.

He said the N25,000 paid before now by students will not guarantee the kind of high quality education they deserve to get, noting that the high fees were part of efforts to create a university where the children of the poor and the rich could learn and achieve together.

“It is not right to keep a university only for the children of the poor. That doesn’t make a university anymore,” Fashola said.

NBA Slams Oshiomole Over Teachers’ Competency Test

The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has condemned Edo State Government for going ahead with the competency test for primary and secondary school teachers in the state on March 22, 2014, despite an injunction of the National Industrial Court sitting in Abuja, restraining the government from conducting the said test, pending the determination of the teachers suit before the court.

In a statement by its Benin branch Chairman, Mr. O. Akere, weekend, the NBA said, “We wish to remind the Edo State Government that the strict observance of the rule of law as a fundamental pillar of democracy and adherence to due process are some of the indices by which a responsible government is assessed. The colossal failure of the said competency test is a demonstration of the fact that a determined legitimate resolve of a people cannot be defeated even with the barrel of a gun.”

Akere commended teachers in the state for not writing the competency test, saying, “we are also in receipt of information that there is a clandestine move by the Edo State Government to remove from payroll, names of workers whose years of service were legitimately extended as a result of study leave without pay.”

NBA described the move as an affront to the rule of law and a challenge to the sensibility of the people of the state and advised the government to desist from taking such unlawful and disgraceful step.

It noted that it was the responsibility of any responsible government to do things to enhance the welfare of workers and not to undermine same, as the decision to extend the services of workers who went on study leave without pay was a decision of the Federal Executive Council in 2006, which was subsequently adopted by the Edo State Executive Council.

“Even if the Edo State Executive Council decides to reverse its decision on the issue, such reversal should not be retro-active,” it said.

‘I’m a supporter of polygamy; most African men are polygamous in nature’ – Jibola Dabo

Capture

Nollywood actor Jibola Dabo, who has five children from different women said in a recent interview with TheNetng that he’s an ardent supporter of polygamy and believes that most men in Africa are polygamous in nature. Read what he said below and tell us if you agree with him…

“People misunderstands what polygamy means. I am an ardent supporter of polygamy. Every single man, mostly from Africa, is polygamous in nature. We are just deceiving ourselves. Polygamy means when you see a woman you love and desire, you marry her with the consent of your already married wife and bring her home. It’s not when you have one wife at home, then you have others scattered in different other places, that is not polygamy. And not when you have three wives and you cannot take care of one, that is an insult to polygamy. There are so many women out there who just want to have a man as an umbrella, but we keep saying one man one woman. Yet the women keep suffering. We all know that we have much more women in this world than men, the ratio is too high.

My father had six wives, my uncle that brought me up had so many wives also. What I am saying is that it is not illegal, we are not in America. Ironically, the white man would have one wife and still keep so many mistresses. If not, there wouldn’t have been an English word for concubines. That means it exists in their culture. Which is better, concubines or wives? In the days when polygamy was well respected, diseases were not rampant. It is now that when men hide to do it that strange sexually transmitted diseases have become the order of the day” he said.

“I have only one wife but I have children from more than one woman. And its not because I had mistresses, its because I have lived in various countries, including America, France, Britain etc. I am this person that any woman that comes to me would always want to have something for me. I have had experiences. I was with a woman and years later, a child was brought to me, a child I didn’t know when it was conceived”. he added

atiku_abubakar_olusegun_obasanjo_746638344Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has welcomed the olive branch extended to him by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness in the interest of national unity.

In a statement issued by his media office in Abuja Monday, Atiku said “forgiveness is divinely inspired and is an oil that lubricates the wheels of continued human interactions and engagements”.

The former Vice President commended Obasanjo, his “former boss for taking this bold and Godly step in the interest of the nation and humanity”.

Information Nigeria earlier reported that Obasanjo had while reacting to a request by the Northern Youth Leadership Forum, NYLF, on Sunday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, that he should forgive his former vice-president of whatever sin or offence he committed, said he had forgiven Atiku.

Obasanjo replied that though he had no grudge against anyone including Atiku, but quickly added that if there was any, “I have forgiven all as a father”.

According to Atiku, the process of national healing and reconciliation should advance to a new level and extend to other citizens of our great nation, who may have had grievances against one another.

He urged politicians to learn from the words of Mahatma Ghandi that an eye for an eye will make our nation go blind.

“When I made a similar effort few years ago, it was on the conviction that it would not be beneficial to me before Allah, if I went to the grave with bitterness. Let us forgive one another so that we can team up for national rebirth”, Atiku urged Nigerians.

He maintained that even if one disagrees with Obasanjo, no one would doubt his firm commitment to the unity of Nigeria.

Confab: Don’t Oppose State Creation, Resource Control, MOSOP Tells Northern Delegates

Confab-in-session.jpgThe Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, MOSOP, has urged northern governors and other leaders in the region to have a change of heart on their plan to resist issues relating to resource control and creation of new states at the ongoing National Conference.

MOSOP President, Mr. Legborsi Pyagbara, who made this known in a statement signed by his Media/Public Affairs Advisor, Mr. Bari-ara Kpalap, said that the northern sentiment on the issue of resource ownership, control and state creation revealed ulterior motives.

Pyagbara stressed that the position of the northern part of the country on the issue could jeopardize the North/South relationship, adding that it was wrong for the North to always vent its opposition to national matters with threats.

He further stated that the Ogonis’ participation at the National Conference was mainly to pursue its interest in state creation, resource control and ownership, environmental remediation, restoration and protection.

The statement reads in part: “As the National Conference progresses, the apex organization of the Ogoni people, MOSOP, has called on the people of northern Nigeria, including its delegates to the conference, elders and governors to rescind their planned resistance to issues of state creation, resource ownership and control supported by the South.

“The expressed northern sentiments no doubt betrayed sinister motives, which in our view, may not augur well for the conference and North/South relationship.

“It is alarming that at crucial times in this country such as this, the North has been behaving as if other parts of the country are mere vassals that have no real legitimacy and rights and must subject to their whims and caprices.

“Our bitter experience has been that any time that the North wishes to get its way against the interests of other nationalities in Nigeria especially on the issue of resource ownership and control, it emphasizes that the present arrangement impoverishes the North and would vent its opposition with threats.

“It is painful to note that when groundnut was the mainstay of the economy, they controlled benefits that accrued therefrom and communities outside of their region especially those of the Niger Delta accepted it in good faith”, Pyagbara stated.

He warned that the North’s resort to hiding behind international laws would not put it (North) in better stead against the position of MOSOP.

FG To Retire 1,050 Civil Servants In Three Weeks, Says Head Of Civil Service

HEAD OF SERVICE OF THE FEDERATION, ALH. BUKAR GONI AJI

HEAD OF SERVICE OF THE FEDERATION, ALH. BUKAR GONI AJI

Alhaji Bukar Aji, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), says 1,050 civil servants that are in the service illegally will be retired in the next three weeks.

Aji made the disclosure at the ongoing 60th anniversary celebration of the Nigeria Public Service Commission in Abuja.

He said that the screening done by Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) discovered that the 1,050 civil servants were supposed to have retired from the service long before now.

“Through the IPPIS, we are able to screen those who are supposed to have retired long time ago and they will leave the service within the next two to three weeks”, he said.

The head of the civil service said that it would create opportunity for those in legitimate service to be promoted.

Aji said that there had been synergy, cooperation and collaboration between the HOCSF and the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).

He assured that the Federal Civil Service would be better in 2014, adding that it would not relent in its efforts to improve the service.

The Chairman, FCSC, Mrs Joan Ayo said that the commission came into existence in April, 1954 with the functions of employing, promoting and disciplining of civil servants.

She said that since the commission was the gateway into the service and exit way, the commission should be guided by some rules.

“As the `entry into’ and ‘exit out’ the service, the FCSC is committed to the traditional core values of the civil service”.

She listed the core values as including meritocracy, anonymity, integrity, political neutrality, discipline, impartiality, accountability and transparency.

Ayo said that the celebration was necessary in order to recall the exploits of the founding fathers of the civil service.

“We are celebrating the past and looking at where we have got it wrong, so we can improve and do it better”, she said.

The FCSC boss explained that the civil service was that organ of government that performed vital advisory role.

The commission advises the government on policy, anticipating problems and deploying human, material and financial resources for effective execution of public policy.

The Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, said that government would ensure improved service.

Anyim, who was represented by Mr Linus Awute, the Permanent Secretary, General Service of SGF, congratulated the efforts of the founding fathers who had worked tirelessly to ensure transparency and meritocracy.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the theme of the celebration is: “Civil Service Core Values: The Sine Qua Non for National Development”. (NAN)

Berries are packed with poranthocynidins which helps in keeping diseases at bay, especially cancers. Take any kind of berry – strawberry, blackberry and raspberry – they also have ellagic acid in them which helps in smooth digestion too. Stir them in yogurt, add them to

your salads or eat them raw, they make for great antioxidant foods.

4. Sweet Potatoes

Among all the root vegetables, sweet potatoes are ranked the highest when one talks about low glycemic index foods that benefit weight loss when consumed in appropriate quantities. These foods digest slowly, thus leading to a gradual rise in blood sugar levels, keeping you full for a longer period of time. They are full of Vitamin C, fiber, potassium, antioxidants but yet again the key in eating potatoes lies in moderation and healthy cooking methods.

Amazing Makeup Tips To Getting A Slim Effect For Round Face

download (3) These simple makeup tips for round face to get a slim effect & lengthen your face through its contours.

Great makeup tips for a round face on how to enhance your features and highlight your beauty. There are lots of tricks and makeup is an excellent method to optically elongate your face. Faces could be round, square, oval or heart shaped, but all these forms has its own makeup technique to get the amazing finish and to accentuate those features.

Round face is usually wide but short. If you’d like to add some length for your face, use bronzing powder or contouring cream to produce an illusion of thinner longer face. Bronzing powder (or contouring cream) ought to be applied on the sides of your forehead and also the sides of your face and close towards the center of your face. If you put it on only to the sides you will make your face look even wider.

Makeup Tips For Round Face

Contour

The aim for a round face is to make it appear a little slimmer and never quite so round. With that said, the top makeup tip for round face such as the following is contouring. Trust me about this ladies, contouring makes all the difference in the world when you have a round face and may make your face appear longer rather than round.

Bronzer

It all depends on your skin tone obviously, but bronzer can be a best friend for you personally if you have a round face! Contouring with bronzer is a fantastic way to draw attention to how long your face is rather than how round it is! This is one makeup tip for a round face which i use all of the time.

Blush

Since cheeks are fairly round, the very best location to apply blush is directly beneath the cheekbone, and up into your temple. Using the blush under the cheekbone slims the profile and accentuates the cheekbone to appear more angular. The best blush color to make use of is a peach-pink shade so it appears natural.

Berry Tones

If you are searching for a way to make your lips pop if you have a round face, berry tones are a fantastic way to do it! This makeup tip for a round face did so many times for me! Just a little berry lipsticks and got people constantly complimenting me how nice look.

Brows

Groomed eyebrows are essential no matter the shape, but a sleek brow with a slight arch balances the roundness of the cheeks and jawbone. A perfect arch for those with a round face is a that is slightly higher directly within the outer part of the eye pupil. Complete eyebrows with a pencil or powder to complete off the look and balance roundness. If you want to use bronzer, simply use a large voluminous brush to use the powder to the hallows from the cheek.

Lips

Lip-gloss and lipstick always complete any look. Those with a lighter complexion look wonderful with a peach or pink lip color, while individuals with a darker complexion may wear a unclad or plum shade to flatter all of those other face and makeup.

Important Tips To Survive Wedding Plannings

images (22) Planning — and surviving — a wedding may be the first in a long line of tests a couple faces in their relationship. Although a wedding is just one day, planning a wedding involves managing expectations, budgeting, balancing family traditions, and learning to communicate with your future in-laws. A couple able to handle the decisions, details, and people that make up a wedding will have better luck dealing with future challenges together. On the contrary, couples who aren’t equipped to deal with wedding stress may find their relationship strained time and time again as new challenges, like finding a place to live and planning a family, arise.

So how do you survive a wedding without destroying the reason you’re getting married in the first place? A couple of key strategies are to communicate honestly with each other, discuss expectations, and always remember why this is important to you.

Decide who will plan the wedding.

Talk with your partner about who will lead the wedding efforts. Will it be the bride, a wedding planner, the mother-of-the-bride, or will you share the responsibility? There’s no right or wrong choice. The important thing is to agree on who is doing what, and communicate that to everyone involved.

Discuss your expectations.

Even if you decide to let one person plan the wedding, it’s still important for both parties to talk about what they want. Even the most laid-back groom will likely have one or two things he wants to have at his own wedding. Write down what you each want, attach a priority to each item, and then discuss your expectations. Don’t worry if you don’t agree on all of the points right away. Set those items to the side and revisit them after you have a chance to think about them. Learning to share your expectations will be valuable later in life. If you can’t communicate why you don’t want to dance the chicken dance, you may have trouble explaining why you think it’s important to have dinner together every evening after you’re married.

Be open-minded.

While the idea that “it’s your day” is a great one, it doesn’t mean that you discard the opinions of others in favor of getting what you want. A wedding is an event that joins two families. It’s not just you and your partner anymore. Your parents and in-laws, and possibly even friends, have a stake in the game and an expectation here and there. Hear everyone out, and be willing to give in to something they feel strongly about. It may be your wedding but these people will play a key role in your marriage and the rest of your life, so a little good will now will go a long way.

Lay problems on the table.

Maybe your parents are divorced, your mother-in-law isn’t your biggest fan, or your partner has an uncle with a penchant for showing up at family events drunk. Whatever the situation, talk with your future spouse about any issues that may cause problems at the wedding so that the two of you can devise a solution (or two!) to minimize chaos on your big day. The two of you are creating a family, and you have to be able to talk openly about your problems. Good problem solving skills are essential to good relationships.

Get ready for the family rituals.

You’re getting married, and there’s no time like the present to learn the secret ins and outs of your future in-laws. Family rituals may be cultural or traditions that are new to you. Be careful not to judge or dismiss “suggestions” that are important to your fiance’s family.

Make time for yourselves.

Don’t lose sight of the reason you’re getting married in the first place! Take a break from the wedding plans and enjoy each other’s company. Spending time together strengthens your relationship, and making time for each other during stressful times will prove to be an invaluable skill for the future.

Conclusion

There’s no doubt that weddings can make for stressful times in a relationship. To keep your relationship — and your sanity — intact, you need to make your partner a priority, learn to work together as a team, and be open minded to what lies ahead in your future together.

Tips To Heal From A Broken Heart And Find Love!

images (12) “Attention is the most basic form of love; through it we bless and are blessed.” – John Tarrant, Western Zen Teacher

Did Cupid’s arrow break your heart on Valentine’s Day? If hurt feelings or disappointment landed on your doorstep (along with, or instead of, that box of chocolates!) here are 5 important insights to help you heal your heart.

1. Love does not equal the net value of gifts given.

If you want to heal your heart, take your focus off of keeping score of who gave what gift to whom. We are led to believe that Valentine’s Day is that special holiday when those who love us are supposed to shower us with gifts. And even though we don’t say it, we judge the financial value of those gifts, or the degree to which our partner planned our special evening, as an indicator of just “how much” we are loved. But a sparkling piece of jewelry or a fancy restaurant does not prove that we are loved at all.

2. Learn the true meaning of love.

Women often feel that they don’t get shown enough love from their partners, while men often feel clueless as to how to express the love that they are truly feeling. In truth, most of us don’t know the true meaning of love, and it is this lack of clarity that gets us into trouble.

Love brings emotional contact, nurturing, soothing and protection. Love causes us to reach out to others and trust that they will be there to create security and safety. Love is also an instinctive survival response that we are born with. We have all watched a mother gaze lovingly at her child or observed the look of pride in a father’s eyes. We accept this need to bond as a normal part of infancy.

But somewhere along the line we lose sight of these needs and think that it is not okay for adults to require connection and emotional contact.

We all have the need for a bond with another for nurturing, soothing protection. We are relational beings with a basic need for emotional contact and responsiveness from those whom we care about. While we can soothe and comfort our children and cherish their vulnerability, we often are blind to the vulnerabilities of our partners. Our own fears and anxieties get triggered when we judge our partner as needy. Our society has taught us that “needy” is bad, rather than helping us to see that being “needy” is merely one way that we are created to be in connection with others.

3. Understand the nature of healthy attachments.

Healthy attachment needs in adults include the ability to trust that you can depend on your partner when you call, to know that you matter to him or her, that you are cherished, and that they will be there for you and respond to your emotional needs. When we lose this connection, our brains go into panic mode, and all we perceive – courtesy of our brain’s amygdala – is “Danger, Danger, Danger!!” Then we act defensively in ways that move us out of connection rather than closer to the one we love.

4. Reach out and touch one another.

The jingle may be corny, but if you really begin to reach out and touch one another, you will create a much more loving connection – as well as satisfy your need for healthy attachment. Make contact with your partner. Simply putting your hand on a shoulder or reaching across a table can go a long way when it comes to diffusing the emotions that can lead to arguments and disconnection.

5. Put your focus on who the two of you are together.

Acknowledge each other. Notice the positive moments the two of you share. Take the time to hold and touch each other. These are the important tools that keep relationships strong and healthy. Develop simple rituals for various times of the day (when leaving in the morning, going to bed). You can also create your own special events, such as spending 10-15 minutes together after the children go to sleep or after you come home from work. Simply sitting together, whether you talk or not, will go a long way in helping you to begin to make your relationship a priority and build the bond between you. Use this time to allow yourself to relish the other, not to talk about the difficulties that need to be addressed.

Have a glass of wine or a cup of tea, hold hands or find another way to touch. These simple actions will keep your relationship feeling solid and become a safe harbor in a world that can often be quite stormy.
