APC Re-Affirms Akeredolu-Led Exco In Ondo

apc-logoThe leadership crisis rocking the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been resolved by national leadership of the party, which has declared the Rotimi Akeredolu-led interim executive committee as the duly recognized exco in the state.

Interim National Publicity Secretary of APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who made this known in an interview with LEADERSHIP Sunday yesterday, maintained that there is no faction in Ondo State chapter of the party.

According to him, the Rotimi Akeredolu-led interim executive is the “only recognised” leadership in the state.

It would be recalled that following the inauguration of Akeredolu as the interim chairman of the party early this year, some aggrieved members formed two parallel excos: namely the Ijare Group and the other led by the chairmen of the defunct ACN, Chief Noah Adesoji; his counterpart in CPC, Barr.Olalekan Obolo and Chief Yemisi Aladesaiye of ANPP.

Mohammed said, “We are not aware of any faction as far as national leadership is concerned, the only recognised state committee is the one headed by Rotimi Akeredolu”.

While assuring that the forthcoming congress of the party would be “open and transparent”, the opposition party spokesman stressed that everyone would be given a level-playing ground.
