Manchester United’s Tom Cleverly has joined Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season.
The deal was agreed before closure of the summer transfer window on Monday night and both clubs had waited for its approval by the Premier League’s board.
The 25-year-old United’s academy graduate made 79 appearances for the Old Trafford club and scored five times.
He signed a four-year contract in October 2011, but has played only one of the four games under coach Louis van Gaal this season- the 1-1 draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Van Gaal has allowed the England midfielder join the Midland club to get more playing time.
Celeverly has had previous loan spells at Leicester City, Watford and Wigan Athletic.
He has not been included in the latest England squad, after failing make coach Roy Hodgson’s 23-man squad at the 2014 World Cup.
