Goodbye Arsene Wenger.

A banner reading ‘Arsene, thanks for the memories but it’s time to say goodbye’ was unfurled after the Gunners’ victory at the Hawthorns, but he is determined to continue.

A visibly irritated Arsene Wenger refused to comment on a banner unfurled by a section of Arsenal fans which called for his resignation during and after Saturday’s 1-0 win over West Brom.

Danny Welbeck’s second-half header was enough to secure the points at the Hawthorns and launch Arsenal back into the fight for a top-four spot in the Premier League.

However, a section of the travelling support held up a banner at full-time which called for the Frenchman to stand down, reading: ‘Arsene, thanks for the memories but it’s time to say goodbye’.

When pressed on the subject of the banner in his post-match press conference, an obviously uncomfortable Wenger replied: “I don’t comment on that. Do I need to say it again? I don’t comment on your question.”

Wenger, who saw his side reignite their top-four bid and qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League for the 15th consecutive time this week, is still convinced he can take Arsenal forward.

“I try to do my best for this club that I love and we are very united with the players and the staff around the team and that’s all you can do,” he told BT Sport.
