Contrary to widespread speculation that he was set to join the Labour Party, erstwhile Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in a bid to actualize his governorship ambition in Nasarawa State.
Mr Maku, a governorship hopeful on the platform of the PDP, lost the party’s ticket to new entrant, Alhaji Yusuf Agabi, who floored the ex-minister and three other contenders.
The ex-minister, who maintained that his governorship ambition was on course, at weekend gave the national leadership of the PDP one week ultimate to address the anomalies associated with the governorship primaries in Nasarawa State.
However, sources at the APGA headquarters in Abuja, confirmed Maku’s name was submitted before the December 26 deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for political parties to submit the names of their governorship candidates and running mates ahead of the February 2015 general elections.
