The Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority, Prof. Mohammed Al-Ameen has described the National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor’s annual empowerment programme as an unparalleled act of philanthropy that can destroy the yoke of militancy in the country.
Intrigued by the commitment of Oritsejafor to helping the less privileged, the FHA boss said on Friday in Warri, venue of the programme, that the CAN president practices what he preaches.
“This is a man that will gather the down-trodden in the society and empower them with things that will totally change them for better and forever.
“Honestly speaking, I am very happy to be part of this memorable occasion. And I was telling him, this event should not be restricted to Warri alone,” Al-Ameen said.
Seven brand new Hyundai Grand cars, 20 tricycles, 100 grinding machines were distributed to the less privileged for the 2014 edition of the empowerment programme.
Oritsejafor also donated a car each to a pastor in Maiduguri, Pastor David Solomon and Mohammed Saidu, the Chief Imam of Maiduguri, the capital of terror-hit Borno State. Their meeting at the programme was reportedly their first. They both pledged to work towards ensuring peace returns to Borno State and the northeast.
They also commended the philanthropic spirit of Oritsejafor and his determination to ensure peaceful co-existence among every Nigerian.
Al-Ameen, was at the programme in the company of the Chief Imam of Maiduguri, Alhaji Mohammed Saidu, Dr. Abdul Ishaq and other Islamic scholars.
