Alhaji Aliyu Daura, the Chairman of Katsina State Indigenes Association, Sokoto State chapter, has pleaded with the President-elect Muhammadu Buhari to re-introduce the War Against Indiscipline (WAI).
He made the plea in a congratulatory message to Buhari made available to newsmen in Sokoto on Sunday.
According to him, the re-introduction of WAI will check the menace of various forms of indiscipline across the country.
He appealed to Buhari to also strive to ensure total eradication of corruption from the country, describing it as the bane of Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
Daura further called on the president-elect to focus on ensuring the security of lives and property, especially the ongoing war against insurgency and other forms of criminality across the nation.
He stated that the victory of Buhari during the March 28 presidential polls was an indication of the tremendous confidence that Nigerians had in him to bring the desired change.
He expressed optimism that Buhari would not betray the confidence reposed in him by Nigerians.
He observed that Buhari’s penchant for honesty, accountability, discipline and transparency was unparalleled.
Daura appealed to Nigerians to pray for the success of the incoming administration in the country.
He stated that the association was working round the clock to sensitize youths in the two Sokoto and Katsina states to the need to steer clear of violence. (NAN)
