Injured Bale Out for Up to 3 Months

Real Madrid will be without injured Gareth Bale for two to three weeks, due to a soleus muscle injury in his left leg.

The Welsh winger was forced off the pitch after four minutes during Saturday’s match against Malaga after feeling a sharp pain in his left calf.

“Following tests carried out on Gareth Bale at the Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital by the Real Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his left soleus. His progress will be monitored,” Real said in a statement.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti, in an interview in Italy, said the former Tottenham Hotspur man would miss the Champions League derby against Atletico Madrid, adding that Real must find “a solution especially in his absence.”

The former Chelsea and AC Milan boss revealed Bale applied ice to the injury and that they will have to wait for the inflammation to subside before diagnosis.

Earlier in the season, Bale missed seven games- all of which the Los Blancos won, including the El Clasico.

He could also miss La Liga matches against Celta Vigo, Almeria, Sevilla and Valencia.
