The late PDP chieftain, identified as Emeka Nworie, was attacked in his house in Ezzagu in Ishielu LGA and shot severally on different parts of his body by the gunmen until he died, the police said.
The Ebonyi Police Command’s spokesperson, Chris Anyanwu, who confirmed the incident, said it took place at around 3 a.m. in the morning.
According to Anyanwu, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, the assailants asked for money, which was generously given to them, yet they proceeded to shoot the PDP chairman to death.
No arrests have been made in connection with the killing.
