Looking at these amazing pictures closely, one will wonder whether it is truly a graveyard.
It does look like a calm city. Wadi Us-Salaam which means “Valley of Peace” is the largest cemetery in the world and it is located in Najaf, Iraq.
Most of the graves there are strategically and beautifully built with baked bricks and plaster in different sizes and even with underground vaults which also serves as an ambush and a hiding place for Iraqi soldiers during wars.
The graveyard covers a vast land of 1486.5 acres and it has absorbed millions of bodies, making it one of the strongest contenders for the title of the largest graveyard on the Earth.
