Ondo PDP Poised for Victory in House of Assembly Polls

PDP1Despite suffering defeat at the polls last Saturday, the Ondo State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is poised to return to winning ways ahead of the April 11 State House of Assembly election in the state.

The party, on Saturday, began its first outing after the March 28 elections at the southern senatorial district where it won all the seats into the federal House of Representatives.

Publicity secretary of the party, Banji Okunomo, said the party had put behind the presidential defeat, saying the House of Assembly election had become very crucial to the people of Ondo State.

He said, “I can tell you that the defeat at the presidential election has nothing to do with what we are going to be doing on Saturday in Ondo State.

“We have refused to be dampened in our spirits and we are reaching out to all our members to see the forthcoming state assembly election as even more crucial than the presidential election.

“There is no change of government in Ondo State. The governor will still remain in office until 2017 and we want him to be able to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state”.

The Ondo PDP spokesman stressed that it is in the best interest of the people to vote for the PDP and its candidates for the House of Assembly for development and purposeful leadership in the coming years.

“Our members must know that there are better days ahead, we are still a party to beat in this state. No party at the moment can stand the legacies laid down by the PDP in the country”, he added.
