President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, said only the implementation of the National Conference report would bring about the desired change in the country.
Speaking in Asaba, the Delta State capital, during the rally of the Arewa Initiative for Peaceful Co-existence in Southern Nigeria, Jonathan said the implementation of the CONFAB report would guard against the discrimination amongst Nigerians.
The president insisted that peaceful co-existence was key to human existence. He therefore expressed the commitment of the government to the enthronement of peace in the country.
Speaking further, Jonathan said that the government was in the process of coming up with a law that would check the issue of discrimination against Nigerians living outside their home states or local governments. He said Nigerians must live together as one, he said he believed in one Nigeria and could not discriminate against any Nigerian.
He also said it was only the PDP government that could implement the confab report.
Jonathan was joined by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Steve Oru, and other top government functionaries for the rally.
