Pillars Beat Al-Malakia 3-0 (5-0 agg.) Through to Champions League 1st Round

Kano Pillars thrashed Al-Malakia 3-0 on Saturday to round off a 5-0 aggregate win over the South Sudanese champions and progress to the first round of the Caf Champions League.


Gambo Mohammed opened scoring for the Nigerian champions in the 38th minute much to the delight of the partisan crowd gathered at the newly renovated Sani Abacha Stadium.


The Nigeria international striker purged Malakia’s resolute defence further with Sai Masu Gida’s second goal of the evening a minute from time.


Adamu Hassan added completed scoring in stoppage time to seal a commanding victory.


Pillars will meet the winner of the match between Mahgreb Tetouan of Morocco and Club Olympique de Bamako of Mali in the next round slated for mid-March.
