Sunshine Stars’ Paul Onobi is set to be sidelined for up to three weeks with a shin injury.
The midfielder suffered the injury during last Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Dolphins of Port-Harcourt at the Sharks Stadium, following a nasty challenge with Isiaka Olawale.
The doctors later confirmed the player, who was initially feared to be out for the rest of the season with a fractured shin bone, has only suffered a deep cut.
“I thank God it’s not such a serious injury. The doctor told me it’s a deep cut. It’s a flesh injury in fact. No contact was made to the bone, and so I’ll be out for two to three weeks,” he told supersport.com.
The former Enyimba man is now set to miss the Glo Premier League matches against Enugu Rangers, Warri Wolves and Abia Warriors and could likely make a competitive return for the clash against FC Taraba.
