Fifth seed Tomas Berdych came back from losing the opening set against South Africa’s Kevin Anderson to advancing into the last four of the Paris Masters on Friday.
The Czech battled out a 6-7(4) 6-4 6-4 win over 12th seed Anderson to claim his 54th tour-level win and also qualify for the ATP World Tour Finals for a fifth successive year.
He joins Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Stanislas Wawrinka, Marin Cilic and Andy Murray at the ATP final showdown.
Berdych, 29, was a semi-finalist at the season-finale in 2011 but lost to Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. His progress to the semi-finals in Bercy is his eighth at tour-level this year.
He will next face either second seed Roger Federer or seventh seed Milos Raonic on Saturday.
Anderson, who knocked third seed Stanislas Wawrinka out in the 3rd round on Thursday, ends 2014 with a 38-24 win-loss record.
