Former Marseilles, AC Milan and Queens Park Rangers left-back Taiye Taiwo failed to “impress” Polish club Legia Warsaw at their winter training camp in Turkey.
The Nigerian defender, 29, had his first training session with the Polish League champions on Monday following his arrival at their base in Belek on trial.
He featured in a 2-0 friendly defeat by Azerbaijani club Qarabag Agdam FK the day after but the ‘Legionnaires’ board of directors have opted against completing his move from Bursaspor, citing that the “Coaching staff are not impressed.”
Legia are searching for a replacement for their injured defender Tomasz Brzyski.
Taiwo is currently under contract at Bursaspor until July 2016, though he is reportedly wanted away at the Turkish outfit.
The next phase of Legia’s preparatory camp comes up in the Andalucian municipality of Sotogrande in Spain.
Meanwhile, the Polish league leaders have agreed a deal for midfielder Michael Maslowski, 25, from fellow T Mobile outfit Zawisza Bydgoszcz.
Bydgoszcz was voted the discovery of the 2013/14 league season.
Legia have 38 points from 19 games halfway through the T Mobile season. They resume their campaign with a top-of-the-table clash at second-placed Slask Wroclaw on February 12.
