FRSC Gives Shocking Revelations Of Accidents During Easter Period

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Thursday made a startling revelation when it said that 10 persons lost their lives in 26 road accidents recorded in different parts of Kogi State during the just concluded Easter holiday.


According to the state’s Sector Commander, Mr Godwin Omiko, nine male adults and a female adult were those that died in the accidents


Omiko, who spoke with journalists in Lokoja, said 120 people, comprising 98 men and 22 women, were those in the 26 accidents which happened between 16-21April, 2014.


It was gathered that out of the accidents victims, 71 people were rescued without injuries while the remaining 49 persons sustained various degrees of injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Omiko said that those rescued without injuries included 55 men and 16 women, adding that no child casualty was recorded in any of the accidents.


The sector commander said that the corpses of the deceased were released to their families after they were contactedacc laid down procedure in the organisation.
