Gabon international Didier Ndong has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Ligue 1 side FC Lorient, according to the French club.
Lorient finalised a deal for the 20-year-old midfielder before his departure for Equatorial Guinea, where he will be representing Gabon at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).
Ndong has been playing for Tunisian club CS Sfaxien since the 2012-13 season and will link up with his new side after the Afcon.
“He’s an all rounder who can play midfield forward of defensive. We felt that it was important to sign him before the CAN,” Lorient coach Sylvain Ripoli said. “(Ndong) could burst through to the highest level during this competition.”
