The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has urged Nigerians to critically examine the manifesto of those seeking elective offices.
He said this would help to determine their suitability or otherwise for election in 2015.
Kumuyi gave this advice while speaking to newsmen in Ilorin.
The religious leader was in llorin for the take-off of a three-day crusade by his church at Eyenkorin, on the outskirts of the state capital.
The cleric described as ‘mere speculations’, insinuations about the possible break-up of Nigeria after the elections.
He asked Nigerians to separate “pronouncements” from “prophecies” about the future of the country.
Kumuyi said Nigerians must put hands together to elect people who would do the will of the majority in 2015.
He reminded political leaders to understand that they came into office for the good of the people.
Kumuyi described his visit to the north central state as one meant beyond religion and ethnicity, saying he was sure God loved the people of Kwara and had seen what they might be passing through.
The cleric said, “Let there be enlightenment; let the media tell us this is where Nigeria ought to be. For instance, we all want an economically stable country.
“We should look at the manifesto of politicians and pick the ones that will deliver, that will help the people. We should not pick just because of religion or ethnicity.
“If we vote for the right people, this country will be great and our politicians must always remember that they are in office for the people”. (NAN)
