APC Guber Flag Bearer, Peterside, Promises To Build On Amaechi’s Solid Achievements

Dakuku PetersideThe governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Mr. Dakuku Peterside, has promised to build on the solid achievements of Governor Rotimi Amaechi, if he wins the 2015 election.

Explaining that he will run an inclusive government where every indigene of the state will have a role to play in the development of the state, Peterside, who is currently the member representing Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, noted that his administration would place emphasis on equity, justice and fairness.

Peterside, who made this pledge on Thursday at the state APC secretariat in Port Harcourt, when he led thousands of party supporters to pick his expression of interest and nomination forms, promised to run an open door administration.

Explaining that he will continue to rely on God to develop the state, the aspirant pointed out that his campaign organisation would soon unveil his roadmap to the prosperity of the state.

“Only God can make a leader. I will build on the solid foundation laid by Governor Amaechi. I will continue to rely on God. I do not depend on my strength or ability. I will ensure unity in Rivers state. All Rivers people will have roles to play in my administration. Our doors are wide open.

“APC in Rivers State cannot be in reverse gear. We will place emphasis on equity, justice and fairness. We will ensure an inclusive government. Everybody will be carried along. I am an Ijaw, but I will be the governor of Rivers State. We can together build a greater Rivers State.

“Rivers people’s support for me is overwhelming. I really appreciate the outpouring of love. I thank all Rivers people. I will not disappoint you”, he said.

On the protest by some aggrieved youths against his emergence as the party’s flagbearer ahead of the governorship election in the state, Mr. Peterside described the protesters as members of other political parties, whose aim was to cause confusion.

The governorship candidate described Ogoni people, who were purported to have kicked against his emergence, as hospitable, insisting that the opposition parties sponsored the protest at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
